Sorry I haven't been on here putting any art up of late, my hands are full.
We now have 7 horses, 4 mares, 1 gelding and 2 colts(Soon to be geldings OUCH!). So it is becoming a full time job caring for them all. the two colts are now 7 and half months old and getting huge. both are well and have been weaned off their mums.
Mums are doing well, just bringing one of them, the thoroughbred, back into work. She is ok at home and is nice and calm, be it a bit stubborn, to ride. Took her out the other day to a riding club where she was fine for the first 5 minutes of riding until she spotted several other horses being ridden and then she threw a wobbly. We span around and around rearing and freaking out. Thank god for my new saddle, it glues you to the seat practically and she did not get me off. After that she got tied up for two hours in the stalls there and then I rode her again, it was a much calmer ride the second time round. She just has to get used to being out and about.
Ok for the the 2 new horses, the gelding is a thoroughbred, beautiful dark bay, he is called Obi, much to my sons delight as he loves Star Wars like his mum. He is my sons new horse for pony club, and he is riding him very well. Obi is a great horse for a kids second horse, more forward moving than a beginners horse, but with all the manners of a beginner. Obi is 15 hands and is 17 yrs old.
Horse number seven we got almost a week ago, she is a chestnut, part arab we think, our nieghbours old horse. They had to move away and did not want to take her as the wife is very sick. Poor girl had not been washed in 13 years. so since moving to our house she gets fed twice a day, had a bath, feet are trimmed and the dentist is coming to do her teeth soon and she is on a worming program now. She has a new lease on life and has teamed up with the foals and Obi beautifully. Can't believe what she was like to what she looks like now. She looks great, her grassy wormy belly is halved in size and she generally looks happy. Her name is Misty and you should see when it's feed time, she gets so excited, she does this little trot on the spot. so cute!
Anyway I am drawing again, at the moment I am working on one that is of my horse Tick, the thoroughbred. Hopefully it will be finished soon!
Thanks for still watching me, I appreciate it
